A laid back and fun chance for kids to get muddy and experience wheel throwing at their own pace. We focus on having fun and enjoying the process as we begin to get used to the feel of throwing. How far can we pull the walls before they break, how deep do we push before hitting the wheel, what is centering? The only way to learn is to throw until you reck it. Your child will leave with one thrown and glazed piece that will be fired to over 2000 F and ready for pickup or shipping at the gallery in 6+ weeks. Important Note: Pottery is a fragile and unpredictable medium. You are not guaranteed a finished product that is in perfect condition. We move hundreds of pieces of pottery through our studio monthly. (This is all completed by one single person) patience in receiving finished products is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE. We are not responsible for a piece cracking, breaking, etc. in the kiln. We take every measure possible to care for your piece and get it to you. Pottery is about getting your hands muddy, clearing your mind and making a memory. NOT about the finished product. Patience is what will allow this studio and the amazing recourses it provides to Key West to remain here.
