Q&A

Q: How does this class differ from our date/family wheel classes?

A: Taking a long term class will provide you with so much important information that will allow you a fantastic foundation for learning to throw on the wheel. Meanwhile, our family/date classes are more casual and skip over the technical skills to allow for a fun experience and making memories.

Q:What should I wear?

A: You will be throwing with a speckled stoneware, it tends to not stain and washes out easy, but you will get messy! Wear something comfortable that will allow you to spread your legs around the wheel. We have aprons you can borrow in studio.

Q: Can I throw on the wheel with long nails?

A: Technically, yes. It will be more difficult and you will need to try some different techniques, like wrapping a sponge around your nails, but it is possible.

Q: Do I need to bring anything?

A: No! Everything needed to throw on the wheel is provided in the class, you absolutely may bring a water bottle for yourself.

Q: What if I miss a class?

A: If you miss scheduled instruction you will be allowed 2 hours of open studio time outside of scheduled class hours to come work on your pieces. You will not receive instruction during this time.
